Lorna & Leeanne

Nestled on the remote Isle of Arran, The Dougarie Boathouse set the stage for a love story that unfolded amidst breathtaking scenery. As wedding photographers based in Central Scotland, we couldn't have asked for a more enchanting venue to document the union of Lorna & Leeanne.

Situated in splendid isolation, The Dougarie Boathouse embraced an intimacy that few venues can rival. Its condensed charm, surrounded by the untamed beauty of Arran, made every moment of these love bird’s celebration feel like a romantic escape in the heart of Central Scotland.

Each of these shots were meticulously captured on medium format film, adding a touch of nostalgia and a timeless quality to their images. The film's ability to capture rich tones and subtle details beautifully complemented the natural beauty of the Isle of Arran.

As the rain clouds parted just in time for their ceremony, these two sealed their marriage with a kiss, a moment of pure love framed against the dramatic backdrop of clearing rain clouds.

This one of our favourite photos we’ve captured to date. Navigating the harsh sunlight on the beach at Machrie Bay, the advance lever on the camera took a bit of a workout as we shot through this roll of film.

We quickly started heading back toward the venue to try and continue utilising the light, but the clouds had taken over creating a beautifully soft light. This kind of light looks particularly beautiful in black and white. There’s something about the soft gradients on skin that looks really elegant. We took a short walk from the venue to Dougarie Estate and its beautiful walled gardens.

When the couple wants to go for a dip, we’re ready to capture it!
